What is All Saints’ Day and Dining with the Departed?
All Saints’ Day is a Christian feast day on November first, honoring all the saints — known and unknown — who have gone before us. It’s a day of remembrance and gratitude for the faithful departed.
Dining with the Departed is a meal shared in a cemetery — a way of honoring the dead by eating in their company, the way families once gathered at gravesides after funerals. The food is the offering, the stones are the guests, and the living get to sit with history for an evening.

What to Expect
From 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Join local historians, musicians and storytellers as we reminisce about yesteryear and recall the names of local legends and the people who shaped this part of North Carolina.

Daytime activities from noon to 4 pm are free.

Dining with the Departed — RSVP ticketed dinner
Stay for a catered Italian dinner among the stones with delicious desserts, and soft crooning style live music. This is the fundraiser portion of the day.
Tickets are $36 per person. Dinner seats are limited.
